雖然拍於80年代末，不過在製作方面頗為謹慎，透過錯綜複雜的劇情及人物關係，擴展出一張交錯的網絡，呈現這個世界中的灰色地帶和人性掙扎。索德柏的版本無疑是佳作，但直到今天看完原版影集，我才發現原本的故事就已經相當精彩，電影版甚至還保留超過六成的情節，證明這套迷你劇集是多麼的劇力萬鈞。
